The ones I've been in are old buildings they moved into. I certainly haven't been in all of their stores. What this has to do with Rural King having filthy and poorly managed stores is beyond me. I don't think anyone is saying you can't go to a farm store in your work clothes but you don't have to make an extra effort to let everyone know you are a hill rod either. I always made it a point to take off clothes or boots with manure on them before going to town. I've been known to go to town dirty when it is an emergency or just plain busy. The place stinks of stale popcorn, the floors are disgusting, the bathrooms are beyond filthy, merchandise on the floor, evidence of rodents, etc. I've been a farmer all my life and that's a part of life for me. The best part is when I go in there and cow shxx and mud are falling off my boots, pants, hands, etc, I feel right at home. They have a lot of cheap crap, but they are close and low priced on what I need. Do all of you complainers go home, take a shower and put on your Sunday best before shopping for parts and supplies?įor the most part I like RK. RK is usually full of "whiskey tango" and "hill williams" shuffling around stuffing their face with free popcorn while half of it lands on the ground. RK is okay in a pinch but is filthy and disorganized. TSc is still okay and Fleet Farm or Farm and Fleet are pretty good. None of them are really farm stores anymore, and most of the items carried are not farm items.
What's your go to farm store then? We have RK, Big R, TSC, and Buchheits in this part of the world, and RK is the best by far. The RK stores that I have been in are absolutely filthy. Once again someone said it much better than I did up above. Rural King just doesn't happen to be one of them.
Is there anything that you can "stand"? !!! If you think of comparing K-Mart to Sears back before the two were owned by the same company, it is kind of like comparing Rural King and Farm+Fleet.
